Michael Simpson

Michael Simpson represents M.E. Simpson, Co., on the Industry Leaders Circle. He began his water industry career in 1983 as a field technician, working with large meter testing and repair. Over the years, he has helped shape and grow the company's core services, launching its leak detection, water loss control, valve, and hydrant assessment, and wastewater evaluation programs. His leadership has been key in combining practical field expertise with emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and cloud-based platforms to provide utilities with more innovative tools for managing water and wastewater systems.

Today, Michael oversees company operations, focusing on financial management, technology development, and business growth. Under his direction, the firm delivers comprehensive Water Loss Control, Asset Management, and System Evaluation Programs using innovative tools like Electro Scan, HydroV, and pCAT. A longtime of the American Water Works Association since 1983, Michael has served on national and section-level committees and held officer roles. His contributions have been recognized with honors including the George Warren Fuller Award and the Kenneth J. Miller Founders Award.
